Welcome to the Forte team web site.
If you are not a current or former member of the Seattle hero
team Forte, then I'm not near the programmer I thought I was.
Please leave this restricted site immediately,
as it has been granted federal protection through UNCLE code 6785.13,
and you are in violation. Penalties can range from 25 years
imprisonment to a couple of dozen angry super-heroes showing up
at your front door.
This page has been designed for
information and communications purposes for Forte members.
Use the links at the top to access the data and functional systems
of the Forte base computer, as well as other features I've added
to this site.
The Team Files link will allow access
to Forte data files for all current and former team members. The
Database page contains links to the complete Forte information
database (including up-to-date hero and villain indexes drawn
from the online files of the Hero System, the network shared by
America's and Canada's hero teams, which I've filtered to synch
with proprietary Forte data for ease of use) with all case reports
and member logs, as well as access to the online databases of
UNCLE, BRAND, and the FBI. Also provided is an interactive world
map, which I've linked not only to our own database, but to up-to-the-minute
intelligence reports from a number of world-wide agencies and
Jane's Intelligence Review. This provides a map useful for hero
investigations, research, or even vacation planning.
There are several options for communicating
with others. The Communications page itself provides direct communication,
via video, audio, or text chat, to fellow Forte members and other
hero teams through the Hero System secure link. It also enables
similar communication with various state, federal and private
entities of interest. If video is being used with one of these
entities, I would advise making such calls from the Forte base,
or at least remembering to put on your mask first. You can also
use the Email Portal link to access your own web-based Forte.com
email address, and can write and receive emails through this site.
The secure site-based nature of this system will allow for more
open and non-cryptic email messages between ourselves than we've
been able to enjoy before. I've also set up a Chat Room for scheduled
or casual team chat, and a Message Board for ongoing member discussions
on various topics.
Other features include complete
access to the Forte base system, which allows you access to security
(including live views from any surveillance camera) and all other
automated functions. If you're planning to make a trip to
the base and want all the lights on when you get there, for example,
then you can do that. Or you can make use of the fiber optic
camera I've installed in the refrigerator to see if you need to
stop at the store first. Please take some time to experiment with
the interactive base map that allows easy access to all these
functions. Note that there's also access to the Silver Bullet
and its hanger. Please do not attempt to make use of these
systems unless you've been certified by myself, Dr. Jackal or
Anvil. I've chosen not to password-protect these systems
for certified Bullet pilots only, as one never knows what situation
will arise. Please use common sense in this situation.
Thank you.
I've also added a calendar for use
in both booking dates which you (or noted guests) plan to be staying
at the base or hosting a function, and for keeping track of important
events such as birthdays, anniversaries, and upcoming summits.
Feel free to add information to the calendar that you think might
be appropriate. I've also included a links page for web addresses
of interest, and a handy news page.
If any questions arise about this
site--or any question I might be able to assist on, for that matter--please
feel free to use the "Ask Vanguard" link. You'll
be given several options for connecting with me. Regardless
of which, I'll be notified immediately via my watch pager (which
can also transmit your message to me in whatever form), and will
contact you as soon as circumstances and level of urgency of your
request dictate. I may be unable to answer right away if
I'm hiding in Maxwell Ravenscroft's closet at the time.
That was a joke.
I hope this site will prove useful
for informational purposes, but also to keep us all in touch more
regularly. Welcome, friends and teammates, and be sure to
alert me to any system problems or site suggestions.
