DR. JACKAL AND CHILL PRIVATE CHAT
DR. JACKAL: How
you doing, sweetheart? CHILL: doing great jack. thanks for asking. :) DR. JACKAL: I’m sorry I’ve been so
busy. I haven’t gotten to check in on you. CHILL: well you don’t have to you know
but it’s still appreciated. you’re sweet. DR. JACKAL: I just wondered if things have been
all right for you since Megan left the team. CHILL: its not like she moved away. lol. they’re
just in poughkeepsie. i still see her all the time. besides i
have a lot of good friends here. the team has really become a
family for me. iris especially. and bethany. DR. JACKAL: And of course Vanguard hanging around
driving everyone nuts. CHILL: lol. yes there’s that too. seriously
you don’t have to worry about me jack. i really am good.
honest. DR. JACKAL: I’ve just been worried that
the funeral might have brought a lot of things back for you. CHILL: it did. but i dealt with them. hey it
was hard on all of us right? DR. JACKAL: Yeah. But I haven’t really
gotten to talk to you since then, so I haven’t had a chance
to tell you I was very proud of you. You were a rock. Better then
some of the others. CHILL: i know it’s what nathaniel would
have wanted. i was being strong for him. it still hurts every
day. god has it really only been three months? DR. JACKAL: I know. CHILL: he saved my life jack. that day i got
my powers. i would have died if it wasn’t for him. and i
know it's not rational but i keep feeling like i failed him at
the courthouse. like i didn’t return the favor. you know? DR. JACKAL: I know. I feel it, too. We all do.
Especially Mark. And no, it’s not rational. CHILL: all of us were right there with all these
powers. we couldn’t even stop a guy with a gun. i think
that’s what made me think of my parents most. not a guy
with powers. just a psycho with murder in his heart. we’re
great with villains and aliens and demons. but it’s too
easy to forget that the real evil isn’t so easy to spot.
or to fight. DR. JACKAL: You want to talk about it when we
have more time? CHILL: some quality couch time with my pro-bono
therapist? how could i turn that down? lol DR. JACKAL: You know you’re always welcome
to come visit, too. With Samantha here, you’re just a quick
teleport away. You know Sabrina and the girls would love to see
you. CHILL: it’s a date. lol. we’ll have
to work that out. DR. JACKAL: Let’s do it soon. CHILL: you know you saved my life too. in a different
way. i haven’t said thank you lately. DR. JACKAL: You never have to. CHILL: well i’m going to keep doing it.
i love you jack. DR. JACKAL: I love you back, kiddo. CHILL: well i think we’d better acknowledge
all these new arrivals or they’re going to think we fell
asleep at our computers. lol. DR. JACKAL: Yeah, you’re right. Call me,
okay? CHILL: will do. :*
