He let the child grow in a horrifying, hellish dimension where time moved more quickly, and when she was of age, came to her as her rescuer. Convincing her that her father had abondoned her there, he twisted her mind and took her as his lover, impregnating her as part of his scheme to be reborn through that offspring, to enter into goodhood through the eternal scion bloodline that ran through Dr. Jackal and Knightsabre. But the soul of this offspring, the child of Samantha Parker and D'Arque, was taken by the Omnicron (a council of sorceror overseers) before the child's birth and implanted, instead, into the womb of Sydney Todd--Forte's Mist. Trapped in Hell after his death at the hands of Forte, D'Arque's backup scheme awaited. His lover--the villain Black Rose, who was actually Samantha Parker--kidnapped the child in an attempt to perform a ceremony that would both bring D'Arque back from the dead and elevate him to the godhood he sought. The plan was stopped by Forte, and Jack Parker (Dr. Jackal) and Sabrina Parker (Knightsabre) discovered that they had a third daughter--a twisted, evil one whose only allegience was to D'Arque. Samantha Parker died tragically in the fight that ensued, and was mourned by her parents who'd never had the chance to raise or know her. What they didn't know was that this child, Samantha, was so special that in all the countless alternate Earths in the multiverse, only two of her existed. One had died on their world. The other lived on a varient Earth, one slightly out of sync with their own world's time, so it was 11 years in the future. This Samantha was 19 years old. She, too, was the daughter of Dr. Jackal and Knightsabre, their versions on this Earth. But her Dr. Jackal had died saving the world some time before. Her sisters, Monique and Nicole, had powers from their parents, and were part of the Seattle hero group FourStar, made up of the offpring of founding Forte members. Samantha herself never showed any sign of powers, and lived her life, instead, as a normal college student. But she was not normal. Within her was the potentential for vast dimensional powers. These powers had not manifested themselves, but Lucifer D'Arque found out about them while still trapped in Hell. Hatching a scheme to use her not just for the elevation to godhood, but to, through explotation of her powers, become a god in all dimensions at once, D'Arque used countless versions of himself across the multiverse to join together and seek her out. When Forte discovered the plot, the race was on, but D'Arque found her first. The ceremony was near completion when Forte arrived, and the great battle that followed ended D'Arque forever across all dimensions. And Samantha Parker, her powers now brought to the surface by the ceremony, was reunited with the father she'd lost--at least a version of him. Dr. Jackal and Knightsabre got to meet the daughter they'd never known once more, but this time one raised without D'Arque's influence. Samantha chose to travel back to Forte's Earth and stay with her "parents" for a while. (For the full story on all this, go to the "D'Arque Dominion" writeup at the Forte Expanded Universe page). While staying on Forte's Earth, Samantha began going to college, and was known to all but close family friends in the know as Jack and Sabrina's niece. She began experimenting with her powers more and more, and eventually donned a costume and became the Seattle heroine called Nightsable. When a new Forte came together during her college years, she began adventuring with them, eventually joining the team taking her place in the history that her parents began. Samantha has relationships now with most members of Forte, but has special one with Electro Man, who became something of a mentor to her when her powers began to grow and she began heroing. She also has a close friendship with Patricia (Trixie) Quest--biological daughter of Phantasm, adopted daughter of Mist, and wife of Jonny Quest--a fellow teleporter who helped her learn the scope and limits of her vast teleporting abilities. Power and Abilities: Nightsable inherited powers from both of her parents. She has increased strength and agility, and her sense of smell is greatly magnified, allowing her to track by scent and desern smells normally only in the animal perception range. Teleportation is her greatest ability, however. She has the ability to teleport herself anywhere on Earth, and can open gateways to allow others through as well. She can also teleport from dimenstion to dimension, which allows her to go back to her own Earth whenever she pleases. She's an expert at hand-to-hand fighting, taught from an early age how to defend herself by her father--her world's Dr. Jackal. Personality: Samantha is kind and caring, level-headed but not immune to being carried away by emotion from time to time, prone to fits of laughter and fond of experiencing new things and people. People occasionally find the things she says odd, not knowing that it's because from her frame of reference, she's traveled 11 years into the past by coming here. She loses track once in a while, and will talk about a film sequel that hasn't been made yet, or find something quaint and nostalgic that others see as cutting edge. She revels in the time difference, feeling like she's gotten a chance to relive her childhood. Coming from a world both more hopeful and less tragic than Forte's Earth, Samantha tends to see the best in every situation and has a positive outlook that draws people to her. Unapologetically romantic, she's fallen into a small handful of relationships in her time on this world, including ones with Franklin Richards--son of Reed Richards of the ill-fated Fantastic Four--and Forte's Seahawk.
