Where Are They Now?

(July, 2005)

Anvil

Mark Spires left Forte in 1995 after a tragic accident involving his ex-wife left him to raise his daughter, Bree. He lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with his wife, Erin O'Day, and his daughter, Bree (now 26), works at S.T.A.R. Labs and is retired from heroing. However, he is currently in the process of relocating to San Francisco to join the new hero team, Forge.

Armature

By 1995, Akim Montabe was off-and-on with Forte, but still didn't officially leave the team until near the time the team began to split. Akim moved back to Africa, and is currently the multi-national hero for all African nations. He works closely to not only keep control in the turbulent continent, but does a great deal of aid work, and has become a beacon of light for the African nations and a regular spokesperson at the United Nations.

Chill

Kyra Walker spent a lot of time away from Forte, doing her school tours with Eclipse, but was still with the team on their final official adventure together in September of 1995. After the murder of her parents in August of 1996, Kyra Walker moved to New York to be with her friend Eclipse and recover emotionally. She joined Angel Flight at Vanguard and Eclipse's urgings, and she is still currently an active member of the team.

Cincoflex

Miranda Delaria left Forte in 1992, putting the tragedies of her hero career behind her. She married billionaire Bruce Wayne, and they had a son together named Morgan Tomas (now 12). Their family splits their year between their homes in Seattle and Gotham City. Miranda runs her company while Bruce runs his. Her restaurant, the Tiburon Roja, is still a Seattle hot spot.

Dash

Frank Clayton resides in the Winship Green Nursing Center in Bath, Maine, and is still in a vegetative state since his near-death at the hands of his master, Tellezar, at the end of his time as the Intercrime villain Octave (1990). His care is paid for by his brother, Colonel John Clayton (Phantasm), and there is little hope he will ever recover.

Dr. Jackal

Jack Parker officially stepped down as an active member of Forte in 1992, though, never moving away from the area, he was never far away if his help was needed. He is now the editor-in-chief of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and best-selling author of such books as "Invasion: An Insiders Account of the Sayoshyant Incursion", "For a Day or a Lifetime: The Forte Story", and "Foreign and Domestic", an expose of U.S. Government involvement and compliance in shadow organizations and terrorist groups. He lives with his wife Sabrina (Knightsabre), and his daughters Monique (15), Nicole (15) and the alternate Earth Samantha (Nightsable, 26).

Eclipse

Megan Graham, the last living vessel for the Synergy Force, was away from the team a lot in her latter Forte time, but was with them at the "official" end in 1995. She moved to New York to be near her fiance, Captain Thunder, and joined Angel Flight. After several years with Angel Flight, she has retired from heroing and is a full-time mother, living with her husband and two children (Clair, now 5, and Clement, now 2). She is still best friends with Chill and the two spend much of their time together.

Electro Man

Wally Wood, who was the last remaining active Forte member in 1996, retired from heroing when his powers began to fade again (when they began transferring to his daughter). He is curator of the Forte Museum full-time, is the chair of the Forte Foundation, and is heavily involved in local charities. He lives alone and spends time with his daughter, Holly, who is the current Forte heroine Dyna Girl.

Hammer

Matt Collins left Forte and retired from heroing in 1992. After the end of Forte in 1995, he lost his powers as Hammer when his physiology mutated again, making his retirement permanent. After years as a financial planner in Pullman, Washington, he accepted the position of head of financial services at the new Armor Security in 1996. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife Lisa.

Hologram

The Steven Lucas that was a member of Forte (1994-1995) disappeared after he left the group. He was later discovered to have been a light construct created by the son of Baron Kromatis (a son, who, himself, turned out to be a light construct), planted on the team to gather information on Forte. He disappeared from existence when his creator was destroyed during the Jericho Effect adventure in 1998. The real Hologram is still a member of MAGIC on his own world, and visits Forte's world regularly during the semi-annual cross-worlds summits and for special occasions. He is a friend and ally of Forte.

Knightsabre

Sabrina Knight-Parker retired from heroing in 1989 when she gave up her powers to be able to wed Dr. Jackal. She currently heads the bio-chem division at Questar Labs, having finally earned back the trust she lost after the Professor Night affair. She lives in Seattle with her husband Jack and her daughters Monique (15), Nicole (15), and the alternate Earth Samantha (Nightsable, 26).

Lightsedge

Jeremy Talix was the second to leave the last active team of the original Forte in 1995, when soul-searching drove him to leave his company, Talix Industries, in the control of his subordinates and travel the world in search of enlightenment. He eventually began drawing young people to himself and training them, and his group, the Order of Light, travels the world and rights wrongs, often ignoring diplomacy and international law. He is closely watched by SHIELD and many world governments, and is a controversial figure in the Forte family.

Mist

After helping found the team in 1987, Sydney Todd-Strange left heroing and Forte in 1989 to join UNCLE, and eventually became Commander Strange of UNCLE's San Francisco branch, a rag-tag unit that she has whipped into shape over the years. Due to dire circumstances in the City by the Bay, she has recently returned to being The Mist and formed a new California hero team called "Forge", made up mostly of former Forte members. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, Stephen Strange, and her son Caleb (now 14).

Moondancer

Chelsea Wildheart was the third to leave the last incarnation of the original Forte, in the fall of 1995, and began traveling the country, and the world, to learn more about and pursue her destiny. She has teamed with many of the nation's hero teams and solo heroes, and became a regular partner of the "Forte 2000" team, where she began an on-again, off-again romance with Davis Alexander (Rainier). She continues to operate in mobile status, and continues to seek out her final destiny.

Nightshift

Harry Sullivan left Forte in 1994 after fulfilling her parole requirement that put her in their ranks, though she teamed with them again over the years when the situation was dire. Using her past thief experience, she founded and runs Nightwatch Solutions, a lucrative security company that evaluates corporate defense systems in companies around the globe, and she is in high demand. She's based out of Chicago, but is currently relocating to San Francisco to become a part of the new California hero team, Forge.

Phantashia

The other-dimensional Forte founding member known as Tasha sacrificed her existence in 1992 to stop the dark lord Tellezar from destroying the world. A memorial for her stands atop Mount Rainier in Washington, and she is acknowledged as one of the great heroes of the modern age. An alternate Earth Phantashia, the Sorcerer Supreme of her world, teamed with the surviving original Forte members in 1998 for the final defeat of Lucifer D'Arque.

Phantasm

Colonel John Clayton left Forte in 1989 to found BRAND, Canada's branch of SHIELD. He returned in 1990 during the Intercrime Affair, and then went back to BRAND, which he still runs. He lives in Newfoundland with his wife, Jeanette MacDonald-Clayton, who runs the organization with him, and his son, Andy (Shrike, now 14) and his daughter Trixie (Prime, now 11).

Secundus

Kyle Von left Forte in 1994 and moved to San Francisco to be near his father and the small Khanistani community there. He continued heroing there solo, and became a formidable presence on the night streets and alleyways. He recently began teaming with the returning Mist, and agreed to join her new hero team, Forge.

Shrike

Andy Clayton, the Forte member from the future, died at the hands of Intercrime in 1990. He was "reborn" to his father (Phantasm) and mother (Bluejay) in 1991, and is currently 14 years old.

Synergy

Paul Glover died on the streets of Reno in 1989 at the hands of Intercrime after a brief membership in Forte. The Synergy Force that inhabited him left him after his death and entered a family (Walt Graham, and his twin grandchildren Todd and Megan Graham), and was split into both "good" and "evil" halves. The evil half was taken over by the Almighty and nearly destroyed the world. With her grandfather and brother dead, Megan became the sole embodiment of the Synergy Force, and became the reluctant Forte heroine Eclipse.

Telesis

Jennifer Chase, having joined Forte while fleeing her mobster husband Joshua Bane with their young son, David, left in 1993 and went underground with the help of WEAVE (Women Escaping A Violent Environment), retiring from heroing and starting over with a new identity after Forte helped fake her death. She was found in 1996 and fled for her (and her son's) life, but was rescued by Anvil and Nathaniel Pharaoh (Twostep) and began yet another new life. She now lives in Sebastian, Florida, with her son (now named "Ian", now 14), and now goes by the name of Maggie Dawson. She runs a clothing shop and internet business called "Mind's Eye Fashions".

Thresher

Chad Spencer died in 1989 in the jungles of South America at the hands of Intercrime after a brief membership in Forte. His older sister would later be found to be villain Seawasp, head of Aquarius. His younger sister took his hero name and became the new Thresher in the late 1990s, more of an eco-terrorist than a hero. Living with the Cassian race deep under the seas off the Washington coast, she became an ally of the new "Forte 2000" team and began to adopt, more and more, her brother's heroic ways.

Tomarssuk

Tommy Rusk was the second-to-last to leave the first Forte team, leaving Seattle to travel Canada and Alaska in 1996. After his quest to find Silvertip, the mystic brown spirit bear he had met in 1869, the two magical bears adventured together and learned from each other for a time. Tommy then spent time in Canada, beginning a romance with Northguard's Vector. Eventually he found himself in Anchorage, Alaska, where he become the city (and state's) official hero.

Tripwire

Gregor Ustov left Forte in 1993, and, lacking circus work for a time, began working zoos in the midwest. He eventually hitched on with the Circus Fantastic and traveled all over Europe. He still works in the circus, but is also well-known in his hero identity around Europe. He has re-joined with Forte in times of need and celebration over the years, and is still a close friend to the team.

Twostep

Nathaniel Pharaoh left Forte in 1993 after the accidental killing of two local gang members. Still wanted for murder, he gave up his powers and left the team to finish one last piece of business before turning himself in...taking down his own criminal family. Undercover in the Bane organization, he finally helped bring them down in 1997. Two years of trials followed, for the Banes, for James Caleb Bane (Twostep), and for Twostep. Found innocent of the gang murders in the Twostep trial, Twostep was shot on the courthouse steps and died in 1999. Seemingly. In actuality, he was taken away by SHIELD, awoke from his coma months later, and spent the next two years in physical and psychological rehabilitation. Now going by the name Travis Monarch, he finally has a true fresh start, though no one outside of a few in SHIELD--not even any of his Forte teammates--can know he's alive. He's currently mobile, riding a Harley around America, and occasionally checks in on Telesis and her son (without letting them know).

Vanguard

Robert Jacob James Smythe finally left Forte in 1992, after years as one of the team's most recognizable icons. He moved to New York to be near the love of his life--Telestar of Angel Flight. He become something of an honorary member of the all-girl team, he began to spend so much time with them--leading many in the press to start referring to the team as "Vanguard's Angels". Vanguard and Telestar married in 2002 in a gala wedding that broke television ratings for the Charles/Diana wedding. He lives in New York with his wife and children, and has officially retired, but is never far from his old friends in Forte.
