"Tower Wreckers"

Date: 11/23/87

Campaign Date: 11/24/87

After receiving an experimental radiation care, Phantashia is well enough to resume her exploration of the city at Seattle Center. She is exploring the Cult of the Mouse (also known as the Disney Shoppe). She is surprised by another ghostly warrior of the Scourge of Fendahl. Reasonably reluctant to fight it at close quarters, she travels outside in hero ID and blasts it. This causes a minor panic in the crowd, but what can you do?

Up above, in the Space Needle’s Top of the Tower restaurant, Sydney (Mist) Todd is out for dinner with her beau, Dominic Fortune, when Golden Glider breaks in and announces a robbery.

As the Glider travels among the crowd of diners, getting goodies for her sack, Mist changes clothes under the table as Phantashia travels upwards. When the heroines confront her, the villainess gasses them with her trick gloves and knocks them out cold.

Golden Glider resumes her looting spree, made a little difficult by the fact she also gassed forty-two patrons, and uses her seduction skill on Dominic.

The heroines recover from their gassing and Mist confronts Golden Glider while Phantashia sneaks around the ceiling to get the drop on her. Glider coyly suggests Dominic bash Mist over the head with a chair, and Mist is forced to shoot him with her Mist blast.

Glider ties up Mist with wire, but Mist simply turns gaseous and it drops off. Glider decides to run, and gets away far enough until she notices Phantashia. She spins and attacks, hitting Phantashia with a special gem that saps her endurance so that even to remain aloft she takes damage. Mist has entered the fray by this time, and Glider finds herself in a battle she really didn’t want. The heroines are getting tried and get to the Needle to get some needed recoveries, but Glider needs to rest, too, and is too far from other buildings to land anywhere but the Needle.

Glider re-enters and tries to fight her way out again. She turns off her flight to simply fall away, faking an accident, but Phantashia telekinetically grabs her again and again. Finally Mist dive-bombs the villainess and smashes her through the gift shop at the tower base and very definitely puts Glider on ice.

UNCLE asks the two heroines to help transport Glider to SISRS and they agree.

Dominic suffered a few broken ribs, and Mist flies him down. The other patrons say thanks, we’ll walk, even though Glider shorted the elevators.

Also—earlier that day, Mist had been recruited by the Knights of the Light by a man known as Robert. The SMASH people tried to get her this time, too.
