GIMME AN "F" (#24)

This Issue's Introduction

"Welcome to the Party, Pal!"

Another new year upon us. I was happy to check my list and realize I’d pulled off a good number of last year’s resolutions…which was probably due to me setting more realistic ones for a change. After a few years of wishful thinking, you end up having to take a real look at your lists and come to grips with how little time there actually is to use during a one-year period. So I’ve got my new goals started, though a lot of chaos in my life this past month has kept me from getting started on them. That’s all right. Still eleven months left to make 2009 the best year EVER! That’s not too lofty of a goal, is it?

The best news going on right now is that GOOD TV IS BACK! I’m in the middle of being so psyched that both Galactica and Lost are back on, and still blowing me away. Someone had better step up with some great new shows soon. BSG is on its final season. Lost only has one more season after this. The Shield ended. What the heck am I going to be left with? There’s always Heroes, which will be back for us on Monday, and my hopes are high that MAYBE the behind-the-scenes shakeup will make it more watchable again, at least coming close to the phenomenon that was season 1. Ever since then? Not really much to cheer. Hope it swings back.

Other than that…overworked (but at least working) and hoping to get back to 40 hours a week (I’m close!) so I can get back to some writing! Plan to get to a lot of that this year. I just need to find a way to make that happen when I get home between 8:00 and 9:00pm every night, hungry and beat and so far from creative. I’ll figure it out.

This Time Around

Once more…no new art! Yes, I’m still post-Vegas poor. Just the one, obviously, that made the CTO cover. Interesting that the most dependable and fastest artists I have are so booby-obsessed. Good to get a new piece of APEX art, at least. Going to have to keep on that.

Story-wise, just had time for a Forte 2000 tale, one starring Seahawk and Moonspider. This tale, set in 2005, is called “Enter the Fanboys”, and not for the reasons you probably expect. This is one of those stories that’s been in my head for about three (or more?) years, and I figured it was time to finally crank it out. Hope you have fun with it.

Next Time...On "The 'F' Word"...

And that’s all I gots to say this time around. Next time? Well, one would just have to stay tuned to find out. Have a swell Valentine’s Day, all, and see you in the springtime!
