Hot fun in the Summertime!
Oh, summer is FINALLY back (rain, rain, go away!), and for
those of us in non-hurricane states, that's a GOOD thing. Time
to start dusting off that summer reading list, getting those
swim trunks out of the dresser, and jumping into some new Clobberin'
Times!
Cover Lovin'
Sorry, gang. I'm trying to mix up the covers with new content
and not just throw Forte-related stuff at you, but I totally
spaced on getting a new cover this time. So I used the new Moondancer
shot that David Enciso did. But seriously...can you look at
that and REALLY complain? That boy's got SKILLZ...
Clobberin' Con XVII is GO!

We're now less than two months away from the 2006 Clobberin'
Con in San Diego, and it looks to be a great one! 'Timers are
converging on America's Finest City (tm) (doesn't it sound like
K.C. wrote that tag for them?) July 20-23 for some hot geekin'
action, California-style!
Here's an update on the guest list. I will be there (you probably
figured that out). Tim Watts ('Times founding father) will be
there. Joel "I B. comin' to the Con!" Levy will be
there. Martin Maenza will be coming with the whole darned family.
Jeff Baumgardner will be making the scene. Looks like Aaron
Storck will be coming, and bringing his (come on, get used to
the word, dude) fiancee Jeni with him to inaugurate her into
the ways of dorkdom. And if they can work on some babysitting
issues, Ben and Kaye Bellot will be making their usual Saturday
appearance.
Sadly, looks like previous news of Nice Guy and DarkWater tables
turned out to be a little inaccurate... Tim and I won't be having
our Fool Court Press table this year, but are planning ahead
for a big showing in 2007. And Joel is doing the same with the
DarkWater crew. The good news is that we all get to run around
and go to panels and buy nerdy collectibles instead of being
stuck behind tables all day, to fair play to us!

I, personally, am going to be REAL busy with so many people
to see. My sister and my niece are coming for their first time
at Comic-Con International. My folks are going to be in San
Diego that week. Some other Sacramento friends of mine might
be going. And I've got to fit in seeing old San Diego people
as well. Scheduling WILL be tight, but I can make it all happen.
I just know it.
And the fact that we're on Clobberin' Con #17 is already making
me think ahead. Just three years until the big 20th anniversary
of these things for us 'Timers, so if you've never yet made
it (or haven't made it in a few years), why not start planning
real early, and let's think about making it a 'Times event for
the ages? And the way rooms fill up downtown around Con time,
you might want to start making your reservations now...
So keep an eye out next issue for the big Con report with all
the details on what went down. I can't wait to bite into my
first $12 sandwich of the year!
Forte 20th Anniversary around the corner!

And next year's Con might be a little light on Forte people,
because there's a big event coming up. Forte players (and GM)
are going to be meeting in Seattle next summer for the 20th
anniversary of the Forte campaign! That's right, coming up on
20 years since Dr. Jackal, Mist, Phantasm and Phantashia first
teamed up to clean up the streets of Seattle, so in honor of
that, we're all heading to the team's home town to hang out,
see the sights (and visit famous Forte campaign sites!), and
hook up for the official 20th anniversary Forte run. Stay tuned
(for a year...) for details!
Next Issue Deadline
Deadline for the next CTO issue is July
31, 2006, for inclusion in the August 1, 2006 issue.
